What is Radiesse®?
As we age, we naturally lose facial fat, muscle & bone which helps sustain a youthful appearance. What are the benefits of Radiesse®?
Radiesse® consists of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel form which benefit you in two ways. First, the filler, immediately corrects lost volume when injected. Second, the treatment also stimulates your body’s natural collagen production, giving you added, natural rejuvenation. What side effects does Radiesse® have?
Side effects of Radiesse® are mild and typically resolve quickly. After having Radiesse®, you may experience some bruising and skin redness, tenderness in the treatment area and swelling. In the hands, you may also experience bumps or lumps, a temporary difficulty performing some activities. Discuss these side effects with your medical provider before having Radiesse®.
What symptoms and concerns can Radiesse® treat?
Radiesse® treats natural, age-related volume loss occurring in the face, leading to pronounced wrinkles and folds, especially nasolabial folds, (those found between the nose and mouth). Radiesse® also treats lost volume in the hands. If you are concerned about volume loss in other areas, talk to your medical provider about alternatives to address those issues.
Am I a candidate for Radiesse®?
While most patients respond positively to the treatment, if you have certain conditions, you might not be the best candidate for Radiesse®. Patients who have had a history of severe allergies, who are allergic to any component of Radiesse® (including lidocaine) or who have bleeding issues may not be able to have Radiesse®. Also, pregnant or breastfeeding women need to wait before having your Radiesse® treatment. Talk to your medical provider about these specific issues and possible alternatives to Radiesse® to treat your concerns.
What results can I expect from Radiesse®?
After having Radiesse®, you will need to keep strenuous activities to a minimum for about a day or until redness and swelling has resolved. Afterward, you can begin to enjoy your new, youthful look including smoothed facial lines and a healthy-looking volume in your hands.
How long will my results last?
While every patient differs, the results of Radiesse® can last up to year or more in many patients who have the treatment, so you can enjoy immediate results which are also long-lasting.
