Platelet Rich Plasma Facelift
Many of our patients are looking for ways to stimulate collagen in their skin, and the clear part of your blood, the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), when injected back into your own skin, does this safely. Cosmetic surgery can remove excess skin and make the person appear younger. But, a surgical facelift can be more than what’s needed for some people (especially when loss of shape without extra skin is the main problem).
Unlike most procedures, the Platelet Rich Plasma Facelift offers a way of both restoring shape, and improving tone and texture, as well as literally rejuvenating new and younger tissue!
3 Steps of the Platelet Rich Plasma FaceLift Procedure
First, the injector uses Hyaluronic Acid fillers to create a beautiful shape. Then, the provider isolates growth factors from the patient’s blood. When these growth factors enter the face (injected by the provider), then multi-potent stem cells become activated to grow new tissue. This new tissue includes new collagen, new fatty tissue (for smoothness), and new blood vessels (for a healthy glow).
1. In the first part of the Platelet Rich Plasma procedure, the injector uses an Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler (like JUVÉDERM®) in a very specific way to sculpt a younger appearing face–while still keeping the shape natural.
2. Providers of the Platelet Rich Plasma procedure take into account the mathematics of beauty as defined by much research (starting with the notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci) to avoid at all costs creating an unnatural shape.
3. After creating a younger, natural shape, the provider then harvests from the patient’s own blood (hence the name Platelet Rich Plasma) growth factors that their body would normally use to heal damaged tissue. A tube of blood is drawn from the patient’s arm.
Immediately after this treatment a beautiful glow to the skin is evident, but the real improvement from the collagen stimulation takes about 3-4 weeks.
